The angels sang a whiskey lullaby G

The rumors flew but nobody knew how much she blamed herself H
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath I
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time B
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind B
Until the night C

She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger D
And finally drank away his memory E

Than the strength she had to get up off her knees E
We found her with her face down in the pillow F
Clinging to his picture for dear life J
We laid her next to him beneath the willow F
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

In the song,"Whisky Lullaby" Brad Paisley portrays the sadness of breaking up with someone. In the first verse the there is two speakers one is a women and the other is a man, both are suffering from heartbreak. "We watched him drink his pain away little at a time" He turned to liquor to ease his heart ache. Every time he drank he could never forget her but one  night he just decided to give up on life."But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind, until that night. He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger"

In the second verse, the speaker shoots himself. He was holding a note of his love for the girl. they find him, his friends, and the angel sang a whisky lullaby to him when they buried him under the willow tree.In a way he thought he was forgetting about her so in a way he had to die to forget about her. "And when we buried him beneath the willow."

In the third verse, The speaker changes from the man to the woman speaker. she blamed herself for his death because she was the one who broke up with him. she tried to hide that she was drinking but finally she gave in and pulled the trigger just like he did. She was buried next to him under the willow tree.  I believe the song is beautiful because first of all when you hear it the song you can hear the pain and suffering in their voices. also i believe its beautiful because the man first kills himself but the woman couldn't live knowing he was gone so she killed herself so she could be with him. So in a way she was with him.
