Remember when is a song about growing up and reminiscing about the memories they have.
In the first verse, Its about when the speaker is young and it felt like that time didn't pass. That all they cared about was the love they had for each other. They didn't care about anything but love they had for each other."time stood still and love was all we knew."

In the second verse,  about when they got married and in the beginning it was hard. people died, people were born and they had a hard time the first couple years of being married. During the whole thing the speaker is looking back on the memories of what he remembered."made the start, it was hard,We lived and learned, life threw curves,There was joy, there was hurt"

In the third verse, is when the speaker and his wife has children. When the children was where the people found love again. In a way having children changed their lives changed what they were use to. They were use to quiet then the sound of little feet became the new music. 


In the fourth verse,the speaker is older and he is talking about how he thought thirty was old but now he doesn't think that."Remember when thirty seemed so old, Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone."  They talked about how they wouldn't mind going through all the things they again. they are older now. Their hair is gray and their children move away and even though they are sad they are going to be happy their kids grew up and go into life. This song was basically about how thought the speakers life they looked back in their memory and recalled all the great things they did and even some of the bad things.
